How important is each weapon on a ranking scale? I'll list my most favorite to train with and explain why each weapon has its own benefits. Rocket Launcher Possibly my favorite gun. I love the fighting aspect of this weapon and the pin point accuracy while shooting at the floor to hit my opponent into the air. If you can master the Rocket Launcher and dodging skills, you have a chance to go really far in Quake. If your Rocket Launcher is not up to par, an opponent can run you over with almost any gun! So make sure you learn how to place the rockets perfectly to defend yourself but also get your opponent in the air and set yourself up for a big second shot. |

Biggest thing in killing an opponent fast is being, obviously, faster than he is... But how can you be faster? Here are some major things I think create speed and give you an edge over your opponent… I'll describe how to increase these as well... 1. Reflexes - I believe being physically fit and working out will definitely increase your reaction time and speed… If you look at any top gamer from the past who competed in a lot of the games I play, most of them are actually in fairly good shape... A lot of the top gamers came from competitive sports too, so take advantage of this and go run 20-30 minutes everyday… Takes two seconds to put your shoes on and go do it… You'll feel a 1,000 times better after you complete it and get back inside to frag some opponents… As a gamer, I typically play games to relax and get away from the real world. I have also found that being a gamer lets me show the world that I can be me, and be whoever I want to be. The gaming world has endless outlets of entertainment and enjoyment. For me, the competitive side of gaming definitely captured me at a very young age. I guess it was inevitable that because of playing sports my whole life I needed to find something to fill the void late into the night. I found gaming. I had chances to play and communicate with different kids my age all around the world. I could showcase my skill in a virtual arena that I took just as seriously as playing tennis in high school and becoming team captain. I wanted to become team captain not only in tennis, but also in the video game world. I loved organizing some of the best players around the world and playing with kids all the way from New York to LA through the whole night. So to you the gamer, what are your goals in gaming? Do you play for entertainment, relaxation, competition, to socialize, etc. etc.? I look forward to hearing what you have to say as this is a great question: What are your real goals in gaming? I actually think a lot of these are reflected in the answers that I listed, so you can definitely list them as well. Have a great week and feel free to chat it up in the “Comments” section so we can have some good content for next week. Latez. -Fatal1ty
I love playing tons of games, not just FPS games... I do this a lot, actually when I'm training for a tournament. It relaxes me and gets me to focus on something else to relieve me of the intense practicing... So when you're training for upcoming tournaments, don't feel it has to be 24/7 training and no fun... You need to enjoy training for the big tournament...
If your trying to learn a game and improve your skills, what is most important thing to do? Watching the best player is an awesome way to learn small tricks and positions a pro use and see exactly how he's thinking. Make sure your watching a quality demo though, where he's playing against another top pro or at least an up and coming pro. You don't want to watch him play a noob, as it'll just be owning someone who is just really bad. So watching demos is great right? To an extent. You need to experience these experiences yourself! So watching demos should be like 10-15% of your time, and the other time being, practice practice practice... Don't think watching demos is going to make you the best player in the world overnight. You need to learn why, how, when, what this game is throwing at you. When you have an answer to every situation, then your going to be on your way to the top... Then its just matter of doing it faster and faster and always being a step ahead of your opponent. So watch some demos, try out some tactics you learned from watching the pro, and just try to experience every situation 100's if not 1,000's of times to perfect it! Practice, practice, practice. -Fatal1ty |
