eSports Lifetime Achievement Award

Johnathan is awarded the first Lifetime Achievement Award in the four-year history of the eSports Award. According to the Esports Award Organization, he “claims the honor for showing exceptional sportsmanship, taking part in shaping eSports into what it is today and for being the prime representative of this young sport”.

The Award will be handed out together with the regular eSports Award categories in a grand ceremony at 8pm CET on August 25th at Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany. GIGA 2 will broadcast live and a web stream will be available through www.esports-award.org. To read the entire article click here.

I can't tell you how honored and happy I am to receive this award! It's been a long time and continuing goal of mine to keep pushing gaming forward… For all of those who've supported me, I appreciate it so much! And a huge thanks to the people I've been fortunate enough to work with throughout my career to help me push gaming to the next level… I believe all of you know who you are, and I will definitely thank each and every one of you individually!

We still have a long way to go, but I feel this is the beginning of us all working together to bring video gaming mainstream… I'll try to save some of my energy for when I actually accept the award with the eSports Award Organization at this year’s Games Convention, but believe me it's very emotional to receive such an award… I thank everyone who's respected me and shown me love for what I'm trying to do for all of us! It’s great to know that someone notices my efforts… Keep on gaming guys and gals – I’ll definitely see you at Games Convention this August!
